Year unknown. This photo was used to make a postcard. Notice anything mysterious?

  1. CFHS, have you used a magnifying lens or a jeweler’s loupe to zero in on the posted ad to the left of the woman? Maybe there’s a clue that can lead to a year.

  2. I printed an enlargement of the above image and examined it with a magnifying glass. I’m fairly confident that the largest font in the advertisement which is posted in the window to the right of the lady indicates “STREET DANCE.” Because the copy which I printed surely lacks the clarity of the photograph in the possession of Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society, I suspect more detailed information may be obtained via enlargement and/or magnification of that photograph.

  3. I think it’s to do with perspective. It you look at the sign in the window to her left, the paneling beneath it goes down further than sidewalk level leading me to believe there are a few steps leading down to the doors of the bakery.

My guess is that she is standing on the step which makes her feet hidden, giving her that floating appearance.
