Mr. Edgar Raub, formerly the general manager of the Falls Hollow Staybolt Co., is seen here standing beside the well known concrete foundation. This once held up a machine called “The Sticker” that made mouldings in the planing mill of the Walsh Lumber Company. The Mill floor was built level with Portage Trail, 10 feet or so above the river. This made it hollow under the floor and heavy machinery was placed on the concrete foundations built on the bedrock below the floor, so that the machines would be at floor level.
