Recently we had a great visit from St. Joe’s Boy Scout Troop 3180. The boys tried out today’s version of a viewfinder, a 3-D stereoscope. The excitement of seeing the old High Bridge Glens Park in 3-D soon encouraged both the leaders and the parents to join in on the picture viewing.  After moving on and looking at displays of Falls sports, the Doodlebug Accident and pictures of an old school house they all tried to dial home on an old fashioned rotary dial phone. They unanimously decided that it would take way too long to reach their loved ones. Wonder what they would have thought of the times before phones?

The boys tried on Chief Myron Harrington’s metal fire hat, a World War 1 Hat, and a few more hands on activities like a real pair of law enforcement thumb cuffs! We ended their visit by showing off an old propeller from a local fighter plane accident and some older uniforms both the boy and cub scouts wore in generations past.

Troop 3180, Thanks for visiting us!!
