Elisha Noyes Sill came to Cuyahoga Falls from Connecticut and married Elizabeth Newberry, daughter of Henry. After her death E.N. Sill married her sister Mary Newberry.
Mr. Sill built a limestone mansion on the west side of Front Street, between Broad and Portage, that became known as the Sill Mansion.
Mr. Sill served several terms as State Senator and was responsible for the P&O canal running through our town. He was also responsible for Cuyahoga Falls being nominated as the county seat of Summit County. Stakes for the Court House were actually set at the southeast corner of Broad and Second Streets, but construction was never begun because Akron won as the county seat.
