Two men were killed and one injured in a wreck at the Silver Lake Junction at 4:30am Tuesday Morning when a Cleveland-Alliance electric package car came into the junction at high speed, crashing into a train getting ready to head for Cleveland. Failure of the motorman to stop the train at a safety signal 400 feet north of the junction was the cause of the wreck.

Cuyahoga Falls now has a flying field. Airplanes began making trips on this day from a field that just opened up on State Road near the intersection of Northampton (Portage) Avenue.

Ordinances were passed at the meeting of city council Tuesday night to issue improvement bonds to the total amount of $177,000 as follows:
For the purpose of paving Broad Street from Sixth to Ninth Streets, $23,054, including the laying of sanitary and storm sewers and water lines and another $113,750 to be known as the Fourth Street improvement fund for the paving of that street from Chestnut to North Street.

The 4th of July was quiet in the Falls and no accidents were reported to the police department. Large crowds thronged Riverview Park at the Gorge all day and evening and the dance hall, amusement devices and other concessions did a thriving business.

Several large elm trees, considered dangerous by the city service department were removed this week from the corner of Second Street and Portage Trial.
