The record shop that was on Bailey Rd in the Arcade next to Hanna Pharmacy moved in on the corner of 2nd and Portage in the mid/ late 60’s.Nice to see new pics such as these.
I think the house was a Dr. office. If I remember right he was a pediatrician, its where I got my ears pierced. The bank was where I had my first account when I was a kid.
Second street had large houses all the way to the Library. They were torn down about 1959 to make a parking lot for the businesses on Front St. I lived in one when I was a child.
Don’t do it, Tre! I know time are tough but so are you. Love, Caroline.
Wow the house almost swallows, the bank
Those are great photos to see!

Great picture! We’re hoping to come to the museum this weekend!
It’ll be open Saturday from 2-4, I’ll be there 🙂
Wish it still was Valley Savings. Westfield is an unfriendly bank
Woah, I would never have guessed there was a house there, or that it was so massive!
Makes sense though, I suppose… what a monster! Great proch, a shame it’s no longer around.
Oh wow I wish that house was still around.
That’s the problem with Cuyahoga Falls they don’t keep any of their historical structures.

I hate saying this. But I remember the house and the library house just down from it.

Times do change. It is now called Westfield Bank.
Wow that house was majestic!!! Too bad they thought it was unworthy to survive.

wow I dont remember the house there and I lived there all my life…
Wow, that was a nice house
Can’t be any older than 1960, because I see a 1960 Plymouth in the photo. Beautiful ’59 Rambler wagon, too.
For what its worth (and they could be wrong) – In the file of donated photos (by the bank) it says the pictures were taken in the 50’s.
Maybe fall of 59
