Ever wonder what used to exist on Portage trail? First, of course, it was all forest and trails but as the village of Cuyahoga Falls expanded westward farmsteads and homes were built. Last week I had someone bring in photos of their childhood farm from the 1940’s. It was located between what is now Bolich Jr. High and Norma Street, right where a current eyesore sits – the round ‘naked lady’ building otherwise known as (I believe) the Akron Art Institute.
Building a garage onto the rear of the house.

That’s where my dentist office use to be I’m pretty sure.
That was originally the Somma Medical Building built by Dr. Somma in the 1960’s I believe.
When I was a kid my pediatrician was there on the ground floor.
The people who had it built must not liked sunshine and being able to look outside.
