This photo was taken at the corner of Third and Portage Streets. Notice the four men on the utility pole. The house on the right was a rooming house. The house still stands at 2216 3rd Street. The house on the left in the background (4th house back) marks Fourth and Portage Streets. Today, in its place on Portage Trail, stands a small medical building.
